Description

James Yorkston was the first member of the Fence Collective to emerge from the creative oddity that is the East Neuk of Fife. James' first solo show was supporting Bert Jansch, his first tour was supporting John Martyn. John Peel, an early supporter, dubbed James the finest songwriter of his generation.

Now 10 years into his career, James has released five albums of original song, a collection of traditional music and published his first book 'It's Lovely to be Here - The Touring Diaries of a Scottish Gent'. James was also musical director at the BBC Electric Proms tribute to Lal Waterson.

This August, Domino Records release James' brand new album I Was a Cat from a Book, his first album of new material since 2008's When The Haar Rolls In.

James is playing his Queen Elizabeth Hall show alongside the band with whom he recorded this beautiful new record.
