Thanks to James Brown, back in the day you had to have a tight horn section. Sly & the Fam,Charles Wright, The Ohio Players & Tower of Power just to name a few. Which Earth Wind more than adequatly brought to the table with their beautiful horn arrangements playing in unison, but what really sets them apart is not only the kalimba but that distinctive harmony that they possess, and the lyrics, Mighty Mighty was just as powerful for Me as Browns say it loud, back in the day.
