“Drunken Butterfly” is the fourth and final single from Sonic Youth’s 1992 album Dirty released in August of 1993. It was written and produced by Sonic Youth with additional production help from Butch Vig. The song’s music video was directed by Stephen Hellweg, the winner of a MTV 120 Minutes contest where fans were asked to send in music videos for any song from Dirty. The music video was included in The Brothers Grunt episode “If I Could Grunt to the Animals”.
