piri & tommy is a dance music duo from Manchester, UK formed in 2021. The duo consists of producer, Tommy Villiers and vocalist, Sophie "piri" McBurnie. After meeting online, the pair bonded over a shared love for dance artists such as Disclosure and Kaytranada, which led the couple to start dating. Tommy produced piri's first two solo singles "It's a Match" and "Soft Spot", before the duo started making music together. After a string of single releases, including a new version of "Soft Spot" the duo released a mixtape; froge.mp3 in 2022. Their style is mostly often described as liquid drum and bass, pop and dance and was an instant success with the duo signing to Polydor and being nominated for BBC's Sound of 2023. In January 2023, McBurnie announced via TikTok that she and Villiers had split up, with piri stating in another video that the two will still make music together.
