Description
There is no substitute for the inherent beauty of the human voice. Singing with pure passion will always strike a chord and The Weakerthans channel this knowledge into every facet of their music. The Weakerthans are the rare combination of thoughtful lyrical excellence and contagious, memorable hooks, which make their tapestry of folk, punk, country and sonnets impossible to ignore. Following on from their brilliant sophomore effort Left and Leaving and the wonderfully crafted ‘Reconstruction Site’, The Weakerthans proceeded to hole themselves up in a recording studio built above a factory on the outskirts of Winnipeg, the cold prairie city where the band was born 10 years ago. The result was the 2007 masterpiece The Reunion Tour, a lush, energetic, infectious and unforgettable album. Touring Australia as part of the Soundwave Festival, The Weakerthans have announced that they will be performing intimate club shows in Sydney and Melbourne only.
