A melancholy and riveting fifth studio album, Before The Robots is a perfect summer album. Interestingly enough, the record is filled to the brim with specific characters, situations, and lyrical perfection. From Griffin's drop dead sexy vocals in "It's Only Natural" to his falsetto in "Juicy," fans will have their high expectations met. The rerendition of "A Lifetime" is moving, heartbreaking, and very original. Props to you, Griffin (I'm also loving the drums in "American Dream," McNabb. We miss you buddy).

Before The Robots did not chart; however, it did receive moderate airplay. The album's popularity went up when Taylor Swift covered "Breathless" in the Hope for Haiti Now performance. She has also covered "Our Last Night," a few times in concerts.

"A Lifetime," the first single off the record, reached number 13 on U.S. Billboard Adult Top 40. "Our Last Night," the second single off the record," peaked at number 28 on the U.S. Billboard Adult Top 40. "Juicy," which received moderate success, peaked at number 19 on U.S. Billboard Adult Top 40. "Juicy" was also featured in promos for Desperate Housewives' second season.
