I can't decide whether the sax or the snare is the best part of this song. This is legitimately one of the best snare sounds I've heard all decade despite the atrocious mastering, but that fucking sax. But there are so many other great aspects that help to make it even better - those Beatlesque backing vocals, the amazing bass line, the should-be-cheesy '80s synths that somehow manage to work perfectly. This seems like it would've fit perfectly in Blade Runner as background music, too. How the fuck he managed to do this while dying of cancer at age 68 remains beyond me.

I can't decide between the album or single version, they're both too good [2] and vey different.

The original was vicious marvelous noise. This is vicious marvelous noisy pop song. It was my instant favourite.

Just like with Sue, I think Bowie did a really magistral job recording new, better versions of them. The saxophone in this one is awesome.
