Do some of you people understand how Time works? I Megaphone came out in 1998 and Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex in 2002. Unless Imogen Heap jumped into the TARDIS and travelled to 2002, she did not steal the riff. [3] Im a fan of GITS, but this is undeiabley true ;)

Imogen Heap and Yoko Kanno are really nothing alike. Hell, I bet they aren't even aware of each other, regardless of Yoko Kanno appropriating ideas like magus said. Someone emulating someone's music has never been ripping off and stealing. If that was the case, we wouldn't have all that much music. Music is like literature, where ideas build upon each other.

I stand corrected. The listing for Imogen Heap I saw had dated it as 2006 from the re-release of Megaphone.

Yoko Kanno well widely known to appropriate musical ideas from other artists and work them into her music, with varying degrees of blatancy.
