"Lost in the World" is a song by American musician and producer Kanye West. It was released on November 22, 2010 on his studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The song was produced by West and and is built on a sample of Bon Iver's "Woods", incorporating elements of worldbeat, art pop, and hip house, with tribal drums, synth basslines, and a gospel-style choir. It also prominently incorporates a vocal sample of Gil Scott-Heron's "Comment No. 1". Bon Iver's frontman Justin Vernon was also brought in by West to layer additional vocals onto the track, becoming credited as a feature for his performance. Singers Alicia Keys and La Roux's Elly Jackson also provide background vocals in the bridge. As the penultimate track, it segues directly into the final track of the album, "Who Will Survive in America", which extends the Heron vocal sample into a full outro skit that brings the narrative of the album to a close. Including "Who Will Survive in America", Lost in the World runs for a duration of 5 minutes and 55 seconds.

The song received universal acclaim from music critics, who praised the atmospheric production, the appearance of Vernon, and West's verse. The verse by West, written in accordance with the album's overarching narrative of self-criticism, struggle with fame and celebrity culture, religion, and relationships, was described as one of the most poetic of his career, with the song being cited as one of the strongest on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. A music video directed by West was eventually released in May 2012 and also recieved positive reviews.
