Does anyone remember the session he did for BBC a year ago? http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01bm50x The couple of new songs he played were really good. Shame I didn't save it before it was taken down a week later. I don't suppose anyone here has a copy?

A Quarter Past Shite is really good. It feels less like a compilation of old unreleased tracks and more like an actual album.

I've always wondered about that. if Malcolm just did the music, while Aidian did the all lyrics and vocals. although I could swear I've heard alil of Malcolm singin' on some songs but yeah, he is the better half. nothing tops 5:14 Fluxoytine Seagull Alcohol John Nicotine. well, Madness for Sadness comes close.

The better half of Arab Strap I think :) [3] - his solo albums are so wonderful.

Interesting - I'd say the new album is by far the worst record hes ever been involved with...which is a shame. There were potentially some nice songs on there but it REALLY needs editing. Too many extravagant bridges/changes and all the songs just far too long. Strip his material down and Malcolm is one of the best songwriters out there. Sad to see him move on but hopefully the Bush Hall gig on tues will be as good as the one on record!

wow. I wasn't too crazy about Waxing Gibbous at first.. my favorite albums are 5.14 Fluoxytine and Sleight Of Heart, as you'll notice his acoustic material. Gibbous contained some of that electronic shite his other albums had which would turn me off but.. now after returning back to it after failed attempts here and there it's starting to hit me now!

Finally got round to getting the new album. Love on the run is my current favourite even though its Red Travellin Socks that seems to have become lodged in my brain!

Waxing Gibbous is gorgeous... plain and simple. "Shadows" is charming, "Box&Knife" stunning, "Don't Want To Sleep Tonight" breathtaking beauty. IMHO - Malcolm at his best
