you were right, Grandma. but I'm still mad you left me then. how could you do this to me? how could you do this to DAD?!? something inside me broke when I saw Father cry. he didn't cry when Mom was sick. he was that strong. but your passing away broke him entirely. you said the pain would go away with time but I guess time is helpless in the face of the pain of loss. it's been almost a year, Grandma. nothing has changed. I still think about calling you, and then I remember there's nobody to pick up the phone.

You could always see if there are any places near you with pianos that you could just yk use... like idk what age you are, but ik as a college student, my college has pianos in the buildings. But also like, ig if ur out of school itd be harder, but like maybe a friend of urs has a piano that they'd be chill with you using?

Sufjan is funny because the music is so peaceful and new-agey, almost lullaby like, and then the lyrics are so morbid

My dad died on the Fourth of July, so it's always a melancholy day for me. This song is perfect.

Almost can't handle the beauty of this song, the soul in it. It's overwhelming.

amo muito essa música e justamente por isso evito um pouco ouvi-la porque sempre acabo chorando a ponto de soluçar

There was a video on YouTube with this song and clips from Grave of the Fireflies. The combination, as you can imagine, is absolutely potent and heart-wrenching.
