Biography
WCK (abbrevation for Windward Caribbean Kulture) is a band from Dominica. They created the bouyon sound, a mixture of soca, zouk as well as dominican styles such as Cadence-lypso and Jing Ping.
The band was formed in 1988. Founding members were Wayne McLawrence (guitar), Keith Goddard (bass), Derick "Rah" Peters (drums & vocals), Cornell Phillip (keyboards), Irvine Phillip (keyboards & production). The first album to clearly represent the new sound they created was 1990's "Culture Shock". The arguably most popular album to date is "Tou Cho Tou Flam" from 1995. WCK is still active today, although with a different lineup.
WCK is also short for "Wszystko co kocham", a 2009. independent Polish film and the punk-rock band of the same name featured in the film. Band lineup: Mateusz Kościukiewicz - vocals, Jakub Gierszal - bass, Mateusz Banasiuk - drums, Igor Obloza - guitar.
WCK is also Polish Hip-Hop Squad from Warsaw
