That's really sad, they just can't be the same without him. Also does anyone know a good place to get the 2015 record "bottom of the world"(?) I can't find it anywhere...

tbh as the years pass I don’t quite agree - they’re still awesome, especially live

Agreed, they're still awesome. Ninomiya is a once-in-a-lifetime virtuoso bassist but as great as he was, the defining factor in eastern youth has always been Yoshino and his vocals/guitar style/songwriting. So as long as Yoshino keeps singing, playing and writing like he always has, this band won't change too much. All that said, Muraoka is an awesome bass player. Perhaps not quite on the same level as Ninomiya but she totally rips, for sure.

Not been on here in months but - whilst I've never seen them live - I have to say, the latest album has massively grown on me. I love it. And yes I totally agree - Muraoka is definitely an incredible bassist in their own right.

Enjoying the new album, is a little more direct/less expansive then the last few but really good.

shoegaze/punk is such a good description of their recent albums. i never could quite come up with a good simple way to describe them (i'm pretty bad at doing that anyway)

HOLY CRAP! I hate hyperbole, but right now, after a couple spins, I'd rank the new album easily in their top 3. Feels like going back to the mid nineties, when they were leaving punk, but not quite "shoegaze/punk" yet (is that the appropriate term for their more recent albums?)

My copy is shipping today from Yesasia.com, I'll probably get it next week. If ''Dokkoi Ikiteru Machi no Naka'' is any indication, this album might be a bit closer to their punk roots than their more recent stuff.
