Tonight I had dinner at a friend's house. He insisted I try his homemade ice cream and its many varieties. I did and they were delicious. Recently however, dairy has not been agreeing with me. I had to shit so bad. I managed to hold on without blowing up his bathroom but the drive home was a race against time. This song was on the radio. Really helped me get through it. I was had beads of sweat rolling down my forehead. The windows down, speeding. Thank you Talk Talk. I made it home just in time. I hope you guys liked this story time.

Speaking from experience, lactase enzyme supplements are an easily-accessible game changer for whenever you eat dairy in the future!

Man, I just love the sound of the 80s. The hits back then are way better than the hits we have now.

That is because talented musicians stood a fair chance of making it to the ears of the masses in the 80s. Now it's only about profit and pushing some vapid mannequin to make the most money. Bands like Talk Talk today wouldn't have had any pop hits. Depressing thing is most people settle for rubbish, blissful in their ignorance and mainly proud of it too.

The conversation was about pop music, not music in general, and why we don't have pop hits like this anymore. And that is because the pop market is saturated with manufactured artists backed by major labels. Sure you can get a guitar, a mic and a PC and stick your shit on Bandcamp with the thousands of others on there, but because the barrier of entry is so low you stand hardly any chance of getting heard never mind having a pop hit. Major labels invest millions into promoting up and coming artists, the majority of which fail to make it, so what chance have you got? There is a reason some artists hold 1, 2 and 3 in the charts at the same time now, if what you are saying is true the charts would be random, not dominated by a handful of people and labels.

I don't understand why I usually hear that cover version of this. At best, it adds nothing to the original. It's a copy/paste with a different singer. I just love the original, and I wish it would get full credit from the radio.

It's unsurprising that the bio mentions Roxy Music, because parts of the background resemble Roxy Music's sound, and then there's the crooning style of the lead singer...so reminiscent of Bryan Ferry's style. I like both.
