Well, I listened a lot to mainstream pop divas like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Britney, Katy Perry, Kesha, the pop songs of the moment, you know. I still listen to it but it's very little, today I have a different vibe. Before I only listened to international pop divas, now my musical taste is more eclectic and diverse. And you?

My alltime favorite band is no doubt and I discovered them early on in high school during a downtime in my music interest but they reignited it. However my second year, I got into a kind of music called black metal, it was edgy and moody. I also listened to copious amounts of madonna at the peak of that. Then when I graduated I went back to rock and heavy metal music which is what I got into when I first started listening to music. Do you think the roots of where your musical taste stemmed from matters a lot?
Действия
-
DanSoares98
Well, not that much, because before I had quite limited taste. So I don't even care about that. But not to say that nothing from that time left an impression on me, it was at that time that I became a fan of Madonna and I am a fan to this day.

In a sense you may have had limited taste but how did you discover madonna and what influenced you to pick up on her music? Well I bought her self titled CD at a vendors mall because on the back of the case I thought she looked a bit like gwen stefani. So much music I like can be traced directly back to No Doubt. The only reason my taste in music became eclectic was because of them. Think about your journey and where it took you. I think that’s why the roots matter. Although your story might not be as dramatic as mine was at times.

Since you’re a drainer, you should look into bathory who is another well known Swedish artist. Very energetic, honestly not a bad recommendation, bathory is quite a good one just listen to their debut album because it’s like 28 minutes long and the songs are short. Pretty sure a picture went around years ago of blade wearing a black bathory shirt.

Manilla Road’s debut album Invasion is THE Willgregg10 definitive recommendation but for something more personal since it seems you’re into Socal bands I’d suggest Saint Vitus' debut album since they played at many hardcore punk shows despite them playing very Sabbath influenced doom metal. The vibe on their debut to me seems reminiscent of what Black Flag was doing around that time and you can definitely hear a bit of influence on the first track.

"Real Black Metal" only consists of the dc Extreme Metal scene and the early 90's second wave bm scene. What is known by "True Norwegian Black Metal" is nothing but heavy metal with questionable black metal influence. When people try to argue that bands like Deafhaven are not real black metal, while saying that Mayhem is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake bm as Deafhaven (plus the pretentiousness). Real black metal sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake black metal is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL BLACK METAL are Mütiilation, Blasphemy, Darkthrone (the only real bm band from the true norwegian scene) and Beherit. Some examples of FAKE BLACK METAL are Cradle of Filth, Mayhem and Ulver BLACK METAL BELONGS TO RAW SOUNDS NOT TO SYMPHONIC SOUNDS, MELODIC, GOTHIC METAL OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

Truth be told my heart has always been in heavy metal music. I’ve listened to Metallica probably well over thousands of times when I was younger. I own all their albums.

PDH isn't even that noisy or loud compared to other black metal artists. His music Is actually pretty calm and lo-fi. If I started developing tinnitus I'd probably blame it on Burzum or early Darkthrone.

It’s not loud. People who say it’s too noisy, which I’ve come across a lot of people on this site who say it is either don’t listen to enough atmospheric black metal to know what they’re talking about or simply can’t contain it well. And yes it’s more lo-fi in my opinion, that’s why I like it so much.

I did in the past. I have a lot of Madonna and paysage dhiver records but I had to lay off that hobby because I collect video games now and vinyl purchases for my favorite bands is too expensive, especially the Swedish bands like Gotham City which go for hundreds. Last record I bought was back in February and it was an impulse buy of Manilla Road’s album Invasion. About $35. If Saint Vitus properly reissued their albums I’d buy them though since I want to support them.

The concert took forever to start I agree, I was losing interest before it actually started on the broadcast. I doubt this would be a final gig, don’t know who would be saying that. I’m pretty sure cher still tours so why wouldn’t madonna. She should release a new album though in this downtime. I’d be more interested in something new. I didn’t like her setlist this tour anyway and I’d be more inclined to go see her live if she’s playing new stuff rather than a bunch of singles.
Действия
-
Jorgerubine
Hmmm It's pretty much the opposite for me. I dislike her recent material so I hope she won't release new music unless it's something good and innovative. As for the setlist it was decent, I'd love to see her going off to Celebration Tour part II but this time she'd perform hit singles that weren't included in part I, although I know this is not gonna happen. I'm curious to know what she's gonna do now musically tho

I want to hear something experimental, something with a sonic landscape again. Or maybe an acoustic album. I would buy that. Madonna is past the point of needing to conform to modern musical trends to stay relevant. I really wish her musical output was more frequent and consistent but she’s always been more of a performer and less a songwriter although she can write great songs. Seeing it switch up like that would be nice.

I played some of final fantasy 7 on ps1 last year and I really liked what I played although I had to have a walkthrough. I eventually got to a crucial boss battle on the first disc and unfortunately I saved my game somewhere That I couldn’t backtrack from to buy more health potions and I couldn’t make it to the fight without my party all dying. So I basically had soft locked my game and I quit playing it. I played some of South Park: the stick of truth yesterday which is also an RPG but it’s much more straightforward and doesn’t have a ton of complex mechanics like materia and stuff like that. It’s also not one of those long haul games and is short for an RPG which is good for me.

yeah the south park games look fun. I have nothing against RPGs I just prefer more straightforward action games like Red Dead or Mafia. I've been looking into buying the older Max Payne, Far Cry or Just Cause games since they're backwards compatible but stretch money is hard to come by these days

I prefer action games a lot more as well but something slower and more story oriented I like also, like the resident evil series. I don’t really have a genre preference as in the past year I’ve played through platformers, shooters, RPGs, fighting games, racing games. I’ve played shooters the most though.

I can understand the stigma given its Chicago but it’s different here for various reasons. The politicians want it illegal, religion runs deep, a lot of people aren’t educated properly. I think I played it first on those gaming emulators with a ton of games included. I remember feeling REALLY intrigued by the intro, with the guy dying on the chair lmao. though I probably played it for like, 10 minutes? then switched for another game. I saw it being mentioned in other game threads too before, probably the reason why I still have some memories of it.

The cutscenes were so bizarre. The ending of the game the antagonist tells the protagonist give it to me, hard. Then you see her shoot his head off and bits of his brain go flying towards the camera. This was a KA rated game on the front of the case. No idea how that happened. Overall I had a lot of fun with it but the controls sucked so much ass. It was choppy and you had to strafe using face buttons, not the shoulder buttons.
