Hey guys! Looking for something a lil specific to listen to. I am hoping to find something a little melancholy alternative folk rock with some electronica instrumentation. Basically, something like Belle and Sebastion meets Junior Boys... or Mumford & Sons mixed with Daft Punk. Does such a thing exist? Message me, because I'll prolly never see it if you just reply in the shoutbox. Thanks to everyone in advance!

I've only listened to Bibio, but he's so, so good. Any other reccomendations from within this tag, anyone?

If you like Folktroinca, you might like our music too... There's elements of the folktronic sound in our music but it also leans towards a darker synth driven breakbeat sound - A true fusion of music..... We've just uploaded our soon to be released new album and just to get you in the mood, there's a free EP which is available to download now (for free!)

As fans of Folktronica you guys might be interested in the Kept Impulses tour that comes to London's Barbican Centre on Monday May 10th. James Blackshaw, Hauschka and Nancy Elizabeth will be collaborating together for the first time in a contoured programme of ensemble and solo performances. These three acclaimed artists will be on stage together throughout, first performing on each other’s songs in an intimate musical conversation, before being joined by a chamber orchestra (directed by David Coulter and featuring multi-instrumentalist Thomas Bloch and harpist Julia Thornton) to play specially-commissioned arrangements of their material. For further information and tickets follow the link http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=10071

The tag is fine. Calm down, 'yall. It's folky, it's electronic...I get it. Funny how the ones who are upset by it have no suggestions. Whatev. Hip Hop is NOT what it was a while back. Even country music's got pop growin' out of it now. Take a breath and get ready for more changes.

Maybe not exactly folktronica (but I won't ruin it for you), but this one guy played in the folktronica area at Luminopolis and he was amazing. Check him out: Halogen makes gorgeous music http://www.myspace.com/halogenbulbs

Is it just me or is there a lot of people who like folk and hate electronica, and vice versa? Am I right in saying that's the main reason people hate this tag?
