According to wikipedia, Gnawa music is a mixture of African, Berber, and Arabic religious songs and rhythms. It combines music and acrobatic dancing. The music is both a prayer and a celebration of life. Though many of the influences that formed this music can be traced to sub-Saharan Africa, and specifically, the Western Sahel, its practice is concentrated in north Africa, mainly Morocco
In 2019 , UNESCO has added Morocco's traditional Gnawa to the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (ICH) on December 12
