The Rom are just as wrong in thinking that all gadjo hate them as the gadjo are in thinking all Rom are theives. "Gypsy" simply means 'outsider'; all other meaning is added by the heart of the listener. You cannot walk straight when the road bends.

I think, the term gypsy is not always racist. It depends on the context its beeing used. Gypsys are romani people. So by definition not racist. Often used in offending context its maybe racist. But gypsy music I would declare as racist...
