Wrock, short for Wizard Rock, is a general term referring to music based on the Harry Potter series by author J.K.Rowling. While called "rock" it may or may not actually fall into that category- any music based on the series fits into this category, from Rap to Electronic to Folk. This genre is reported to have begun with the band Harry and the Potters, followed quickly by draco and the malfoys and hundreds more. There are now over 700 bands internationally, and other fandoms have taken the idea to heart, notably trock and twirock
