There once was a cheesy noodle who hailed from a faraway land. He didn't know how to drive a car, so he galloped on his hyena all the way to Hawaii. The other spicy noodles made fun of him because he was cheesy. If this story moved your heart, please let me use your bathroom. Together we can stop racism. Can I count on you?

Hello. You wanted to know how PSB were... well just okay, Spitfire and Everest are by far their best songs, some others okay, but I won't be going to see them live again. We saw Thee Oh Sees last week though, now they were very good!

It did entail a couple of days of epic driving: we discovered it's all-too-easy to underestimate distances in the road atlas ;-) Nevertheless, a lot of fun, and seeing the permatanned Welsh love-god, Tom Jones, performing in his spiritual home, only added to the sense of unreality! David Holmes is still making music, though his output is somewhat sporadic: 'Holy Pictures' was released in 2008 (!), and although a departure from his earlier sample-heavy work, is very evocative. Also worth tracking down his Essential Mix 98/01 for an ecletic selection of psychedelic soul that is closer to his soundtrack stuff.

Hello, it's me again. As for my song, working title: 'The melancholy waltz', it was just me practicing, after a heavy 12 hour nightshift! It needs people to show it a bit of patience, I fear. But, you know, there's something there, I think. I do have some talent! It's just that my internet connection, lagged, somewhat. Hence the freeze.

Ah, fb. Hmm. I see that it's changed again. Again! It now doesn't have a 'Timeline' as such, well not that I can tell, anyway! It all seems rather pushed over to the one side, also. All the comments seem to be on the right-hand side, with not enough space for them, it seems? Have always prefered last.fm. Despite it's changes, brought in. Yes, I have been a wee, wee bit bit active on here, wishing some of my girl chums a very happy Easter. To you, too youngster! xx

'Selected Madonna enjoyer' seems an appropriate tag! I've a couple of compilations, but Ray of Light is the only full album I own: there's a synergy to it that has never quite been captured in either her or William Orbit's solo work, and it also reminds me of a memorable roadtrip to Las Vegas. Gig-wise, not a lot on the immediate horizon, other than maybe Public Service Broadcasting next month...

Hello you, very kind of you to pop by. Yes, I am o.k. thank you, kindly. Looking forward to Easter I guess, although I will over it. So I'm not sure why I said that really?! I have gone a bit quiet, haven't I? No fb, no last,fm... No, will have to change all that and start to talk again!

Sorry, that should say "topped off" not "topped of". In the interest of fairness, please tell me all about Flight of the Conchords. Thank you :D

Poliça are a strange one to pin down. They mix electronic sounds with chunky, funky bass lines, powerful, driving drums (provided by not one, but two drummers), all topped of with dreamy, effects-laden, almost indecipherable female vocals. Will that do for starters?

If you ever get the chance to see Low you should, as impossible as this sounds, they are even better live. Yes they are my photos - not the best quality but cherished memories nonetheless. Beach House were surprisingly good despite the venue (imo the acoustics in The Roundhouse aren't very good, despite the setting). Victoria Legrand is a very enigmatic performer and she was constantly tossing that beautiful mane of hers around.

Cheers. I find there's something quite melancholy about the music for a lot of those old shows, especially anything by Oliver Postgate, that's lacking from their modern counterparts. Or maybe it's just the nostalgia talking... ;-)

Yeah, I saw Low perform an amazing show at The Royal Festival Hall last April. I can't wait to hear the new songs performed live. Have you seen them too?

Hi Ria. I noticed that you have been listening to Nadine Shah as well - my god that woman's got an amazing voice - I need an album from her. Have you listened to Steve Mason's new album yet? It's a cracker :D

Long time, no shout ;-)... Was wondering whether you'd heard "First Aid Kit"? Only just discovered them - very much in the Blue Roses mould, and playing the Wardrobe on Feb 28th. Unfortunately, I'm not in the country then, but thought I'd let you know... http://www.last.fm/event/3125479+First+Aid+Kit

I think you might be able to count The Smiths from hearing Moz do a few Smiths tunes. We could go go see Tunstall if you fancy. I don't know much about her but you've suffered enough Jens and the like to earns that :) xxxx

Hmmm not sure which gig i'm looking forward to the most. Suede supported by Chapel Club should be pretty special and i'm seeing Wilco at the end of October. I saw Luke Haines at the Brudenell a while back - it's a lovely little venue :) Hope The Radio Dept. gig was a lot of fun!

Just Indietracks for me and the wife this year. Usually we go to Summer Sundae but this year's line up is a bit... o_O I like Warmsley's solo stuff but I think I prefer Summer Camp. Must be good going to gigs in Leeds, there's always good stuff going on :)
