Hello again, and Merry Christmas! We are missing you very much here at lastFM ... you haven't been scrobbling for half a year :-( I hope all is fine on your side and you make a comeback soon... How I re-discovered your profile? ... I've just finished re-reading comments from way back (2010 Nov) in my shoutbox... We got in contact due to Konrad Ruhland and my musicology group

Just been listening to your library because I wanted to listen to some classical music, unfortunately hardly any classical came up. Will have to try elsewhere : ( Cheers anyway!

Hello Shrink125! Thanks for the Shout. Glad you like the name. I'm wondering if yours means that you're a psychiatrist - ?? Yes - there is definitely something in the waters around the fens!

Hey there! Long time ago you recommended Galuppi (and Legrenzi), both of whom I'd only listened to cursorily... and now that I've actually listened to their works properly, must say that I love them. Esp. Galuppi's vocal works. Lovely! :)

Honestly, I clicked on your subscriber profile from the shoutbox of a profile of another guy who pretty clearly goes around last.fm clicking on subscribers profiles because he knows that they see who visits their profiles. I did, however, remark on your profile to my GF when I saw it the first time. I said, and I quote "wow, this guy really, really likes classical music. 10,000 Vivaldi plays!". Greetings from San Francisco.

Nah, music is a subject that holds infinite interest to me, esp. this kind of music, so you can't get boring (esp. since most people I know consider Adele to be an exceptional talent and Bocelli - a good tenor. Now that was snobbish, I know:)). Yeah, I like Purcell a lot and speaking of home-grown (to an extent) and of Purcell, we shouldn't forget Handel... Always thought that the influence of a chaconne from his Fairy Queen is really noticeable in Handel's Suite No4 in D minor... Oh, and the third movement of Tartini's Cello concerto in D major is among the most beautiful things written...

Yeah, I love baroque music and usually have a really hard time not coming off as an intellectual snob, when trying to explain that I like baroque and not classical music... a battle I usually lose, esp, if I go on to add that I also love Mediaeval and Renaissance music (it's a good thing I don't really care what others think;))... All kidding aside, Galluppi, Palestrina and the Scarlattis I already know and like, as well as Monteverdi, of course, but Legrenzi I am not familiar with, will definitely check it out... Am quite partial to Pergolesi, too...

Hey there! Yeah, to me Alan Parsons are like love at a more mature age - no tunnel vision and "I can't listen to anything else", but rather a desire to revisit them quite often and taking quiet pleasure in their presence. As for Vivaldi - to me he's the epitome of Italian baroque and I LOVE Italian baroque... BTW, as you seem to love him as much as I do, I honestly believe Modo Antiquo to be among the best Vivaldi interpretors; their Juditha Triumphans interpretation is stunning... I see you also enjoy Gregorian chants (no wonder, after all, you claim to have very Catholic tastes... which, I'm afraid, can be said about me, too) and Blackmore's Night:)

Hey, since he's your top artist on here, what compositions and more importantly what performer would you recommend I go with for Dietrich Buxtehude's organ stuff? Who's generally the best player of his work in your opinion?

I think one of those last.fm applications, the obscurometer perhaps. Thank you, I like your taste aswell, I've been wanting to check out Buxtehude for some time now.

no idea, but according to your library i think it would be on some classic music blog or something. I used to listen to a lot of Jordi Savall's projects. Sorry for my english, my dictionary isn't enough rich as i wish it would be. By the way, i'm gonna check your library next time to find some interesting classical music. any propositions? something around medieval or renessaince music with some folk influences?

Hello! Thank you. :D I'm not so sure myself. Haha. I know! But I'm really into classical music too! Maybe it's because I haven't added that many artists yet. :) I'm still trying to find out how to work this shit. :\
