Hmmm, that didn’t work very well! Did you catch TG!T on the recent tour? We’ll they’ve just announced a one-off Thunder, Lightning, Strike 20th anniversary show for London next Feb. Just got tickets on a presale, I gather they’re on general sale on Friday! Hope you’re well and hope you’ll be in attendance!

Hey! Long time, no speak! You appear to be one of the few people out of my friends (sorry, "followers") who still scrobbles. Hope you are well and heading into an awesome 2019! Any recommendations from the last year (or two)? Seen any good shows? Not been listening to a great deal of new stuff over the last couple of years (my listening habits have been going backwards rather than forwards) but there have been a few records I've enjoyed from this year. The awesome new Go! Team album was one of them, unsurprisingly!

Yeah I've just been listening to more of the same myself. Go! Team, IQ, Public Service Broadcasting, been listening to the anniversary release of the White Album quite a bit too.

Hiya! Really enjoying the new album too. We're going to see them in Manchester and possibly the following weekend at that Indietracks festival in Ripley - isn't that close to you? It's only £37 for a day ticket! Also, as you probably gathered, I didn't go to see Zun Zun Egui. I saw them supporting the Hoof a few years back and, as unique and enjoyable as they we're to watch, they never really grabbed me at the time I'm afraid. Is it worth listening to their newer stuff?

I love the new song and have complete faith that the rest of the album will be just as awesome! Let's hope some tour dates follow!

Sorry, a bit slow on the uptake with that one... I see that you were at the Hoof & Tooth show, (which I assume you're referring to?). How was is? Got hold of Chrome Black Gold today and I massively regret not going now.

I'd love to, especially the night with Gum Takes Tooth supporting, but not gonna be able to get down due to lack of funds. I've blown a lot of money on expensive gig tickets recently. On the plus side though, I get to do the unthinkable and see both of my pre-teen musical heroes (Huey Lewis and Billy Joel) live next month!

I want to know how were The Polysics at the concert but you're no longer on the social networking website Twitter I don't think.

Hi there! What was that thing you said I should apply for online before going to the US? It sounded important so, obviously, I forgot what it was.

Where did you see that?? I really hope Mr Parton is aware of this, because I'm pretty sure he has a case for a plagiarism lawsuit. Although, I'm sure he'd be happy to accept an out-of-court settlement, if you know what I mean. (You obviously know what I mean).

I see you've also been enjoying the Gum Takes Tooth album! I haven't listened to anything else since I first put it on a couple of nights ago. Really awesome stuff.

I'm a premium subscriber mate. It's beneath me to converse with you freeloaders anymore! I'll make an exception for this message though... I actually realised I have a picture of you on the wall in my kitchen! I bought a couple of those multi-picture hanging things for me and the wifey to pop some of our favourite pics in and put one in of Jeff jumping on me from their gig at the Polysics all-dayer. I realised the other day that you are in the background, pint in hand, with a big grin. I also had to put up the infamous Clockwise shot you took of Fidel and Paul. Had to be done!

Crikey, that was a bit blue! I once went Oingo Boingo on Mary... that doesn't really work does it. Have you got hold of the new Polysics album yet? I liked that 'Let's...' song but I'm a bit hesitant to buy it just yet, as who knows how long it will take to ship from JP at the moment. WHAT A RUDDY INCONVIENENCE!

Funnily enough, she dedicated Buy Nothing Day to me in Brum! I think it was because I was the only person who new the name of the song though... I really want to see them again now, hopefully they'll do some festival shows in the summer. The first place I saw them was at Reading Festival in '05 and they were the highlight of the weekend. The ultimate festival band!

I'm jealous! One show on this tour wasn't enough, I really wanna see them again - especially if the rumours of 2011 being their last year of touring are to be believed. I'd forgotten how much fun they are live!

I only started listening to them over the last couple of months - they aren't the kind of thing that I'd normally listen to, but I saw them at 1-2-3-4 Festival (at Fidel & Paul's recommendation) and really enjoyed them. I saw them again at Offset last weekend and they were even better. The album is really strong for that kind of band, I expected a load of filler but there's only a couple of weak tracks. I'm looking forward to hearing some newer stuff by them, and think I might check out PRE in the meantime (Akiko's other band).

Did you get hold of Budokan Or Die yet? I just got mine, it cost me a bloody fortune. Worth every penny just for the tear-jerking Black Out Fall Out at the end though.

Their new album Crush Depth is even more genre defying and well worth a listen if you liked P-EFR. If you ever get a chance to see them live you should definitely check them out, they're insanely good. Seeing them live, right at the front of the stage, is the closest I've ever felt to being on drugs while being completely sober. THAT good.

Re: Nedry, I liked the music but couldn't get on with the vocals, as you predicted. There seems to be a lot of dubstep influence leaking into other forms of music at the moment, not sure if that's good or bad, but I always love big sub bass! Can't stop listening to the new Devo album at the moment, I'm enjoying it far more than I thought I would.

Glad you enjoyed Sleigh Bells! Have you heard the new Devo record yet? I think Polysics' Devo influence has gone full cycle, as their new album has a definate Poly-influence. I got the 16-track deluxe version off iTunes and it's well worth a listen.

One of my Last FM buddies recommended me a band called Sleigh Bells and I think they'd definately be up your street. If you haven't heard it already you should check out their 'Treats' album, it's on Spotify now. Very happy and pop, yet very loud and crunk.

Yeah, I would rather that they carried on, but the thought of seeing someone filling Kayo's spot just seems wrong. That said, I agree with what you said on the boards, at the end of the day, Hiro is the driving force behind the band and I totally trust him in not coming back with a lame replacement for her.

I know, I was gutted... I read about it on your site just after new year and had to console myself by watching the Now is the Live DVD which just made me feel worse. I can't see how she can be replaced to be honest. I'm not sure how to feel about it all yet, I just wish they could've squeezed in one last UK show :(

Something about a mangina. Looking forward to Absolute Polysics? Waiting on my CD/DVD version to arrive! Actually looking forward to the 6-hour recording session thing on the DVD more than the album to be honest... That said, I didn't have such high hopes for Karate House or WATM based on the singles either, but they won me over both times. Hopefully they'll come to the UK again at some point!
