Hi. For me, Autobahn was and always will be _the_ Kraftwerk song. I have a faible for long tracks (which ultimately led me to Jazz and Prog), even though I did not know it than. But those sounds and progressions, it was really like a movie for ears. I cannot recall any more hits than "Die Roboter" and "Das Modell" in Germany. (Tour de France?) Their output declined rather rapidly after the release of "Computerwelt".

Dot in the Sky ist wunderschön :-). Grüße, Day

thanks. in the age of celebrity, isn't it increasingly to be expected that the passing of celebrities, entertainers, musicians should seem to affect & to touch each of us personally (Bowie? Cohen?) , however with Mark Hollis, i feel this loss far deeper. Having grown up with TT, the music has always been in my playlist rotation. only the previous week, i was (as usual) listening to one or another track by the band. That beautiful resonant (timbral?) voice, those increasingly avant garde arrangements (music to actually sit down, focus on and listen to), whilst i didn't know the man, i feel a deep connection to the emotions conveyed within & awoken in me by the songs. this unexpected and early departure hits hard; harder than most. interstingly i see both you and i chose to pay respect using a similar photo (from same photo shoot).

Or even Michael Jackson, who was - for me - the first to go, whose music has always been around while I grew up and grew older. But this is somehow different, as you said. I saw TT live once, but I have nearly forgotten. And it was in the midst of the 80s, and their music changed extremely. Experimental, very intense - every knew album was a sonic adventure. And I actually have a similar feeling of having known the man and I feel a bigger loss compared to other muscians, even though he didn't release anything for the last 20 years. Maybe he really put some part of himself into his music.

Dankeschön! Yeah, it's been a while since I've listened to The Flaming Lips and especially this album. Well, it's not going completely downhill, they're making progress actually. I'm still sad that those features like a normal about me and the groups are still gone, but at least the site and the scrobbling work fine and the site itself seems to be more steady, no outages in a while, which is good. I see it a bit more positive now than I used to. If it's a sinking ship than I shall be the captain and go down with it, that's how addicted I am to this site, haha.

Lieber Day, I guess in a real life simulation game like "The Sims2" we would be at the stage where the flatmates have talked so much with each other that they become "friends". Please let's become friends again on last.fm!

Thank you kind sir! I hope we can give and take from one another. ;) I do agree that it sucks that last.fm gave up on the radio aspect but I am still addicted to scrobbling. Music is life! one of my favorite DJ's is from Germany, Boys Noize!. Much Love from Cali!

Hi there :) Nice descriptions of your musical journey. Would I be a copycat if I did something similar on my page? My first memory is of listening to the radio. My first album purchase was Madonna's "True Blue" (on cassette), and first CD purchase was of Stone Temple Pilots' "Purple." (Which, imo, was nowhere near as good as debut "Core," but I digress.) I can't remember the first mp3 I downloaded, but it was probably on Limewire. Not sure any of these choices reflect my personality or musical taste at present moment, but you could probably guess how old I am, hehe.

Thanks a lot! Great taste, your charts have pointed-out much overlooked areas in my taste. A Wild Beasts fan who calls it 'sitting room' is a real rarity.

Thanks for stopping by. I am greatly saddened by last.fm's changes. I listen to my radio a lot and my friends radio frequently. with this coming to an end, I will cancel my subscription. I don't tag my music [am I really missing something?] and I don't care about a discount on merch that I'm not going to buy!! It's cool to see who has visited my page, but it's not worth the $$ for just that. Perhaps it will mean that we will actually "talk" more to our friends! It's still not quite spring here. we are expecting a snow storm tonight! I love late winter snow!!

LAST.FM subscription model has changed for the worse. They're want to lose subscribers? They now have a monthly auto-renewing (out of cont-) rolling subscription model. Previously, the last 5 years, i was happy to renew for 6 months / 1year; now the choice is 1 monthly auto-renewing subscription. I am not for agreeing to this.I cancelled my Spotify subscription as soon as was subjected to this crude, inflexible business model. let me please decide how, on what, and when i spend my earnings. Previously i've always supported you with 6 monthly or annual subscriptions, where now is your loyalty to me? You are about to lose me (and many other regular subscribers). We are ready to throw money at you; are you so readily willing to dispense with us? Over my dead body will set you me up with a rolling subscription from here until the never-never. sorry, this isn't going to happen. Last.Fm i'm so disappointed in you!

It's a great picture, isn't it? Unfortunately, the pic is several years old and the costume is lost. It was a gift at the time, so I can't help with where to find a similar outfit, sorry. I can, however, compliment your taste in music!

Hello, I get what you mean. It's a beautiful album, very autumnal sounding (I think). Season's greeting to you too! :)

And a hello to you! Yes my Rev listens are rather low - for shame! Used to listen a lot in the past before scrobbling, but besides Snowflake Midnight i don't feel the urge to revisit them. Wish they'd hurry up with some new stuff though! I don't understand these fans either. I started with Secret Migration so that maybe affects the way you look at it. Not that into the Baker-era stuff, though some of its real good.

HoM is a conundrum ! a riddle, a question asked for amusment lol. Sometime HoM is up there with ST and other times ...well, for me that is. English Electric in my view sits comfortably with those two, to be honest I'm not a big OMD fan, kinda lost intrest after Crush, Architecture & Morality I would say is my favourite :-) First caught OMD at Glasgow Apollo in '79 the were supporting Gary Numan .... ahhhh wonderful times 8-) *** SSS ***
