Hell yeah dude I love it!! I hadn't listened to Billie since her first album but decided to jump back in with this one and so glad I did. It's beautiful, lush and flows so nicely. Loveeee her vocals on every track. Birds of a feather might be one of my favourite pop songs. How about you??

It’s so beautiful and her vocals is so😻I actually ended up listen to When We All Fall Asleep cause of it(Well, technically cuz Apple rank it as the 30th best album oat but still) ended up loving the album too and heard that it was produced from her brother⁉️

Sorry for late reply. But yeah I cant lie I love NZ. It's not perfect but it's upsides make up for its downsides. Its not for everyone, though that's why so many people from here go to the big aus lol. But that couldn't be me I'm quite happy living here for my life. Maybe live somewhere else for a bit, but I'd defintely come back eventually. Its defintely so beautiful and pure here nature wise, theres no dangerous predators, its small so not hard to get anywhere in the country, people are super nice (the odd shitcunt but cant avoid that haha) Highly reccomend coming to visit one day! All the traveller's and tourists I've met love their time here. Just living here can get a bit tiresome for some, but I feel like that would be the same as anywhere. How do you like Australia?

Ahh yeah that makes sense. Yeah I don't think there are any sugar free variants but they do limited time flavored ones every so often. I don't drink sugar soft drinks nowadays either but if I had to go for a sugar one L&P would be the go to for sure. What's some good aussie drinks? I can't really think of any of the top of my head but surely we get some over here.

Hmm it's a tricky one for me ngl. I know that album is legendary, but I've tried a few times over the years to get into it and it just doesn't hit for me. I guess it's Wayne himself. I haven't really listened to any of his other projects except for a couple of songs on Carter V, but I really like him on basically every feature I hear. Just on this album he doesn't do much for me. He doesn't really capture my attention for some reason. The production is pretty amazing throughout though, and I like all the big hits from it a lot including Weezys parts. Let the Beat Build is perfect mix of Wayne and the beat itself coming together to make an absolute classic song undoubtedly. I just wish I felt like that about the album as a whole. How about you??

Hey, sorry for taking so long to respond, I actually wrote most of this about a week ago, but wasn't quite satisfied with it so I'm only getting back to it now. The essay I did was for my film class, I wrote it on how Hitchcock used light and shadow to represent Jungian psychological archetypes in Psycho. My other exams were for Economics (my major), and Theology. I had those exams last week, and now I’m starting an internship working on a jazz collection in Nashville, and I spent the last couple days traveling, which is why I couldn't get back to you sooner. It begins next week so I get a week to hang around and explore Nashville before I’m starting. It’s pretty exciting. Do you have any plans or anything you’re doing for the summer?

Anyway, have you been following the feud between Drake and Kendrick? What was your favorite track that came out of it? It's an unpopular opinion, but the one I like the most is 6:16 in L.A.. It's pretty crazy that we had the biggest rap beef since the 90s since we last talked, it was pretty fun to follow but I guess it's over for now, but apparently Kendrick has at least 5 more diss tracks (as alluded to in Not Like Us) and a 19 minute version of Euphoria in the vault, so it'll be interesting if we ever get to hear those, and I wonder if he discusses it on his upcoming album, if he releases this year.

I 100% should have mentioned Atrocity Exhibition as well, that shit is a modern classic. Maybe I’ll go with Bottomless Pit or The Powers That B for Death Grips. TPAB isn’t my favorite cause it’s a pretty challenging and uncomfortable listen for me, now that’s not a complaint at all but it’s not the kind of record you can just throw on at any time and vibe to, I have to be in the right mood to listen to it. It’s one of those rare albums that never plays the same way twice tho, every time I do play it I get something different out of it. Totally get why it was so impactful for you. I can’t think of any particular record that made me a music fanatic, maybe Melodrama by Lorde since it was the one that got me into modern music when previously I had only really listened to classic rock. Have you seen any good movies lately?

Agreed! So misunderstood too, I find it funny how both sides completely missed the point of the movie - that's how you know you're doing something right, if you piss off both sides. Even when I saw it in theatres a handful of people got up and left, haha! Did you see the trailer for Kinds of Kindness by the way? Looks absolutely killer. Thank you thank you - you know someone is a connoisseur of the right things in life if they're Mean Girls enjoyers.

I had 2 people leave my first viewing of it too haha. But my audience's the next couple times all seemed to appreciate its glory. I have seen bits of the Kinds of Kindness trailer but I try to stay away from watching trailers for the most part. Makes for a far better experience not knowing anything. Poor Things for example. I had no idea what it was about and saw no trailers or anything so everything was a surprise and it was fantastic. I just base what movies I'm interested in on whose involved in it, word of mouth, or if I've seen a screenshot from it that looked sick. So Kinds of Kindness obviously has my attention no matter what super fucking hyped!! Also I saw you gave Easy A a 1 star brutal haha. I thought it was a fun enough time I'd probably give it a half star less in retrospect but wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen. I just love Emma so much. If she isn't already she's on her way to being the greatest of all time for me. She's still only just getting started too

Hmm I could make it a long explanation but will try keep it concise lol. It's a masterful achievement in tense filmmaking. The whole film is utterly chaotic and nail-biting like no other that I've seen. Thats thanks to the amazing editing, dialogue and soundtrack. Adam Sandler gives a career best performance that he probably won't ever come close to again. Every one else in the cast also delivers great performances aswell. The aestetics of the film are incredible. The lighting, cinematography, colour saturation all create a visually flashy and unique look and vibe to the overall film, which stays consistent throughout. The soundtrack which I've mentioned is fire and is used in very strange ways but just works so well. The wardrobe and costuming is dope asf, from the clothes to the jewelry. Adam Sandlers character literally has the hardest drip in every single scene. Also it has great the little bits of attention to detail to the time it was set which I dig.

dont kill me cuz i was younger and my memory is rusty but I remember not liking it for being this big mess of a film that lacked a clear plot, but now that I'm a bit more mature, I want to watch it again on my own and give it a fair chance
Actions
-
KingofCydonia11
Yeah it being a mess with no clear plot isn't really a lie, but it's also kinda the point. All about how you view it. It's just a chaotic, character study of a gambling addict. It's not for everyone that's for sure but I hope you can appreciate it more on a rewatch!

This is a big one, so big I won't be able to get all my thoughts out tbh. So it took a couple of excruciatingly hard listens through to realise I absolutely love it. I can't even tell you why exactly it just has a magic that only Kanye can produce. It's like a dichotomy of good and evil. A mix of the characters and ideas that represent Kanye as an entity. It's a complete mess but it's a damn beautiful one. And you cant ignore the impossibly large elephant in the room. Kanye West is a deeply fucked up human being with some terrible world views. But he's also one of the greatest artists ever. He's the only person in the world that can have so many eyes on him and still be so obviously terrible and take that, run with it and come out the other end with a piece of art representing how terrible he in fact is. Hes dangerous, he's a problem, he's a literal villain (of his own creation and volition) and just like Thanos he is inevitable. But in this timeline there's no Iron Man to stop him.

Vultures is all I want to listen to. It's what plays in the back of my head when nothing else is. It's so fun and joyful to listen to (just like most of Kanyes music) It worms its way inside my subconsious and just connects with me. I genuinely fucking hate how much I like it if I'm being real. I also hate why I can't explain what I like about it other than it has that Kanye touch. But truthfully that is all it is. Its just another artistic expression from the mentally ill, moral dilemma of a human that is Kanye motherfucking West

Hi Rocket_25! Thanks I appreciate that you would have faith in me hahaha. The Mollusk is one of my fav albums ever fuck yeah!! Ahh well you could always try some King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard if you arent familiar. They have plenty of good pysch albums. I guess they are the king of that shit in the modern era next to Tame Impala. "I'm in your mind fuzz" and "Murder of the universe" would be good starters. "Surrealistic pillow" by Jefferson airplane is a classic. "Forever changes" by Love another classic. Psychedelic porn crumpets and red vox were a couple bands I came across down a YouTube rabbithole while I was tripping one day and they both go so hard! Unfamiliar with their discography enough to reccomend albums but loved what I heard of them. Oh and of can't forget about MGMT who have like 3 almost masterpieces to their name with "Oracular Spectacular", "Congratulations", and "Little Dark Age". Silver Apples self titled is severely underrated too.

Imma quote my shout I put in the shoutbox of the album a couple months back "Ive slept on this album for 10+ years goddamn this goes hard. Great riffs and insane drums with that perfect grimy and raw production. Maybe their best indeed" Now I say I slept on this album for 10+ years which is true but I did listen maybe 2 or 3 times over that period and tbh it never really did anything for me. Being a huge fan of Nevermind and more so In Utero, Bleach is quite a lot different than both of them in terms of what I mentioned in that quote and I guess it just wasn't what I was looking for back then. But listening to it again a few months back I guess I acquired more of a taste for that raw sound and kinda live for that in some rock music nowadays, and it all just fell into place. I would 100% reccomend listening to it but keep in mind what I mentioned here. I will also add its probably my favourite Kurt vocal performance it's so unhinged I love it. But In Utero still a better album overall
