oops, i can't seem to make paragraphs here, sorry! i'm a huge fan of menomena and i think the latest album is good but i'd say nothing as the previous two. spyrals - 's/t' if you're into black angels. i've been discovering some really good recent punk bands i've missed over the latest couple of years. do you have any good release i've probably skipped this year?

hey seb! how are you doing? i don't have spotify, though i can gather my top listened albums this year for you, for sure. trail of dead 'lost songs' less epic and closer to the albums from the early 2000s. really enjoyed this one. slug guts - 'playin' in time with the dead beat' australian band, you can see some pussy galore or even early stooges on this one. the men - 'open your heart' very versatile album, from punk to folk or even prog. you're probably aware of this one by now. ty segall's and thee oh see's realeases. all of them. both metz and japandroids realeases this year. the japandroids isn't that good, but it has some really great post-hc-superchunk songs. moon duo 'circles' latest converge, as always. oh, latest neurosis and tragedy are really good if you're into heavier shit. liars didn't disappoint as well. the godspeed latest album is also incredible. some really epic and EITSish parts but altogether an astonishing album.

That's awesome man! So glad to hear it. I couldn't love those PILE records more, and I highly recommend checking out their 7" and first album "Jerk Routine" too. Different sorta sound, but still unquestionably Pile.

Browsing through my old gigs and looks like we might've bumped into each back in 2007 at that EITS gig in London. You weren't the annoying loud person on the stairs were you?

Hmm... as far as venues go you should look into The Hawthorne Theatre, The Doug Fir, The Crystal Ballroom, The Wonder Ballroom, and The Roseland. If you check out www.theportlandmercury.com you will be able to see all sorts of awesome things going on for when you will be here! Oh, and as far as food goes, go to The Paradox or Jam On Hawthorne for breakfast.

TRLS is awesome. I think you will probably dig them. As far as Portland goes, are you looking for music to listen to or things to do here?

rather good: Wave Pictures, Delorean, The Books, Here We Go Magic (the 2 songs I saw), Atlas Sound, Wire excellent: Grizzly Bear, the Fall, Pavement, Spoon, Pixies But the ultimate highlight by far was Low doing The Great Destroyer in the auditorium. Just stunning. Props to the food at the vegetarian/vegan stand, too. Your highlights?
